"Out to Lunch" is Eric Dolphy's most known and best selling album. It was recorded four months prior to his (diabetes associated) death, and stands out among all of his studio recordings.
With the musicianship of 18 year old Tony Williams, 23 year old Bobby Hutcherson,
25 year old Freddie Hubbard, and 33 year old Richard Davis under 35 year old Eric Dolphy's lead, "Out to Lunch" remains one of the most inventive (naturally eccentric,) free and personal jazz-albums in our current jazz-history...and let's face it; it kicks ass.
